This little filly tends to try and push through you with her
shoulders and will present her hindquarters to you in a challenge. She
also swings her hindquarters around in evasion.
This causes her to be
imbalanced and no where near ready to move forward correctly. By
bumping her nose with the rope halter to let her know her behavior is
unacceptable I am able to get her to stand up straight and balanced.
The second half of the clip shows the placement of my feet in relationship to hers. As you see I do not rush in on her and get in her space which would only cause the problem to become worse. By staying a bit of a distance away she can clearly see me and I can position myself to help her understand what I want.
